hi! i’m kaitlyn. i’m so glad you’re here.
i believe the relationship between therapist and client is one of the most important factors in therapy, if not the most important. healing doesn't happen in isolation, it happens in connection, in feeling truly seen, heard, and safe with another person.
i think a lot about what it means to feel safe with someone new, probably because i've had to build that kind of trust myself. i immigrated to canada in 2015 as an international student and have called london, ontario home ever since.
i'm a proud bahamian, born and raised in nassau, and i know firsthand what it feels like to land somewhere new and have to figure it out largely on your own. that experience, paired with my own time in therapy, shapes how i show up with clients: with genuine warmth, curiosity, and understanding, so you don't have to sit with feeling stuck or lost by yourself.

my approach is relational, here-and-now focused, and rooted in curiosity. it's informed by a blend of psychodynamic therapy, internal family systems (ifs), dialectical behaviour therapy (dbt), and cognitive behavioural therapy (cbt), but more than any single framework, what guides me is meeting you where you are. that means paying close attention to the parts of you that show up in session, the ones that protect, the ones that hurt, the ones that hold hope, and helping you build a relationship with all of them.
i believe healing happens in connection, so i prioritize creating a space that feels safe, warm, and honest. therapy with me isn't about fixing what's "wrong" with you, it's about understanding yourself more fully and building the tools to move through life with more compassion for yourself along the way.

my own experience in therapy is what led me here. before this, i worked as an educator and later in human resources, and both roles taught me a lot about people, about how they communicate, what they need, and where they get stuck. but the more i did that work, the more i realized what i actually wanted was to go deeper. i wanted to sit with people in the harder, more human parts of their story, not just support them from the sidelines.
i know what it's like to not understand what's going on in your own mind. to feel lost, frustrated with yourself, and genuinely stuck. i know how hard the work is to unravel that feeling, and i know how important it is to have a safe space to do it in. that's the space i try to create for the people i work with, one where you don't have to have the words figured out yet, you just have to be willing to start.

i'm happiest when i'm at a concert, in the middle of a recipe experimentation, or just singing because i feel like it. music has been one of the most consistent supports in my life, and going to shows is genuinely my favorite thing to do.
i also love spending time with my little family: my husband and our two cats, chiku and mango. i find a lot of joy in tending to my porch garden, getting into random craft projects, and experimenting with sourdough recipes.
a lot of my close knit community doesn't live nearby, so i really look forward to weekends spent visiting friends or hosting them when they're in town.
at the end of the day, connection matters most to me, whether that's through music, creativity, or just being close with the people i love.
